Council Member Biography

Allen May is the CEO and Co-founder at Elang Energy, a new exploration and development (E&P) business, a company focused on exploration and development of oil and gas in the Asia Pacific region. Prior, he was the President of Samson-International, an E&P business unit focused on the international arena for Samson Investments. He has also managed the turnaround and growth of Samson's offshore business in the shelf and deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Mr. May has more than 30 years of leadership and technical experience in domestic and international oil and gas. He is active in executive leadership, evaluating deals, developing bids for properties, advising investors, and developing business plans and strategies for start-up companies. He has experience in business development, acquisitions, exploration, field development, and organizing and building new companies in the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, and Venezuela.
