Alfred Michon

Alfred (Ted) Michon is an independent transportation consultant specializing in railroads. He is currently a senior consultant to Cape Cod Central and MassCoastal Railroads. Prior, Mr. Michon was the President of Colorado & Southern, Fort Worth & Denver, and Bangor & Aroostook. He has played an active role throughout his career in leading railroad merger and acquisition activity both as a corporate executive and as a consultant. Mr. Michon has held senior marketing and strategic planning positions with two of the largest Class I carriers - Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads. He managed the BN's Energy Department during the build up of the Powder River Basin coal boom. Mr. Michon developed a pricing policy for this billion dollar market which maximized return on capital and market share. At BN, he also managed their international business and pioneered in the development of a robust trade in Forest Products with the PRC. Mr. Michon is among the world's foremost advisors on reforming the state-owned railway enterprises of Eastern Europe and the republics of the former Soviet Union.
