Council Member Biography

Alfred S. Blazek is the Chief Financial Officer of Dunham's Sports. He was until October 2008, Finance Director with Whirlpool. Mr. Blazek has served as the Chief Financial Officer for Circuit City's National Service group and a member of the corporate Innovation team. He held this role from 2003 until 2007. In this capacity, he was directly responsible for corporate finance, strategic planning, merchandising & marketing analytics, financial reporting and risk management. Mr. Blazek was formerly the CFO/Head of Finance for Circuit City Direct, the online division of the Fortune 250 consumer goods retailer. Prior to this, he served as a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager at Wal-Mart. Before that, Mr. Blazek was in Global Finance for financial services at Capital One, a Virginia-based financial lending company. He also served as a Management Consultant for Columbia Energy Group, a natural gas, electric and water utility company based in Northern Virginia. Mr. Blazek holds an MBA from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry & Mathematics from Mount Union College. (This is me - Update Profile)
