Alfred "Alfie" Kane

Alfie Kane is a Non-Executive Director at Vodafone, Ireland, a wireless carrier. He is also the Chief Executive Officer at Baker Capital Corporation, a private equity fund. Previously, he was the Group Chief Executive Officer at Eircom, Plc; Executive Chairman at Cablelink, Eircell Mobile, and Eircom International; Director - Operations, Worldwide Networks Division at British Telecom; and the Chief Executive Officer at British Telecom, Northern Ireland. He has over 25 years of senior management experience in the telecom, cable TV and the mobile sectors. Alfie is knowledgeable on WiMax, DTT, DVB-H, Mobile TV, DVB-T, and convergence of TV to mobile in regions throughout Europe. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers and the Irish Academy of Engineering. He is the President of Glencree Centre for Reconciliation, and is on the Board of Dublin City University and the Chambers of Commerce Ireland.
