Without control of small site energy loads, information only systems (Smart Meters, Google Power Meter and Greenbox) are of limited use in controlling energy use or in responding to real time pricing.  One way low bandwidth systems will not meet the needs of Internet savvy end users in managing energy use and reducing peak loads. Two way broadband, easy to use, browser based controls are essential to enabling consumers to participating in the Smart Grid.
