After 4 - 5 quaters of negative growth, cost cuts, product rationalization etc... we have some good news from bell weather stocks of Indian pharma market.Dr. Reddy's & Ranbaxy both are reporting profits after of year of dismal performance.This is also a sign of overall market changing its down ward trajectory.

This comes as a major shocker!!!The EU has initiated formal investigations against a few pharma giants in an Anti Trust Suite.This is not good for Ranbaxy's European operations.Ranbaxy is bearly out of the woods with is past troubles, this is going to be a major set back.

Slowly and steadily we are seeing positive news trickle in from Ranbaxy!! This indicates that measures taken to put their house in order are finally showing results. The latest approval to market Rocaltrol for which Ranbaxy will be the 1st to launch the Generic version will be good addition to the bottom line. 1st Generic always has a good advantage in terms of market capturing abilities. With a 70 million market open to capture, getting 35 - 40 million in 18 - 24 months is not impossible.

This news comes as a great shocker!!! Wockhardt till some time back had full intentions of making hospitals its core business & pharma its secondary business. Their pharma business has seen consistent decline over the years with no sign of revival. The financial situation at Wockhardt has been much talked & written about and must have forced them to change their mind. If the sale goes through it  will cure all of Wockhardt current alignments in one Dose1
