It seems these terms are being used widely throughout the media so what are the difference between them. Well this depends on who the author is and what sector they are looking to appeal to.

China Combats Solar Downturn With Subsidy | www.environmentalleader.com
For countries or even individual states of the United States the key ingredient of increasing the total output of "Green" or Renewable Energy is to offer deep incentives. That has been accomplished by Germany and Japan over the past decade or even longer. By doing this these countries are also Stimulating their own economies and solar industries. The Japanese government used this method and it worked and created Sanyo, Sharp and Kyceria as being the leaders in solar module technologies. The state of New Jersey, US also took a lead in rebating and providing incentives to both residential and commercial facilities back in 2002. Right now this tiny little state of the USA has the second most solar panels installed in the country.

Kidnapped US captain freed; snipers kill 3 pirates | news.yahoo.com
When I first heard of the issue of Pirating off Somalia a few years ago my first thought was how can this be happening in these times. It was brought into my personal circle when a ZPMC owned ship who is a client of mine, ship was attacked on December 30, 2008. I wrote on this topic and it was published in the GLG News. During this attack the Chinese Crew battled the pirates for 4 hours using water cannons eventually having to retreat to the cabin which is essentially a steel vault just as the crew of the Mearsk Alabama did to avoid capture by the pirates. Luckly after the 4 hour battle the Royal Malaysian Navy arrived on the scene and was able to deter the pirates from hijacking the ship. In this incident Capt. Richard Phillips had his crew enter the cabin and nobly rendered himself to protect the safety of his crew. A valiant effort that put the Captain in danger of losing his life. During the past few months numerous companies have began thinking about the security of their ships.

NJ & NY Special Interest Groups strong and oppose any Renewable & Alternate Energy Offshore Projects | espn.go.com
This past week on January 27, 2009 I attended what was going to be the first of many public presentations about a proposed Alternate Energy Project off the coasts of NJ and NY. There are currently three proposals in front of the Coast Guard, State Officials, and Federal officials for a LNG supply station. The first of which is proposed by a company and called Safe Energy Island, which has been dubbed already by special interest groups as "Isanity Island". After listening for a few hours it became clear that nearly 99.99% of the people have clearly made up their minds that this is a bad project and should of never even reached this point. Everything but the Subject Matter was discussed as really nobody has even done any research on the topic other than it is just no good for the country, the economy, public safety, and of course the ocean. We all listened about the dangers of an accident like the Exxon one in Alaska, an explosion in China and of coarse 9/11 in NYC.

Royal Malaysian Navy thwarts Pirate Attack | www.maritimetoday.com
Just another issue for the global shipping companies to be concerned over. When container charges are down from $1800 a year ago and now are going for $300, they must consider adding heavily armed security personnel. Even with the lowest cost for shipping products in years companies must start to rethink who they chose to ship their products to avoid routes that are going to pass through this heavily used and dangerous shipping lane.
