Cloud computing an antagonists view;

Replify an interesting start up that can boot your cloud applications | hvrietsc.blogspot.com
1. Cloud computing, while offering seemingly manageable security measures cannot be secured sufficiently to protect data from spillage. 2. Competitive intelligence demands sources, and your data is the prime source. 3. Big brother frightens me. Cloud computing, without sufficient laws, could be the largest nightmare the online community could ever face. 4. It does not meet trade secret standards.
This level of debt will destroy this nation and perhaps cascade to the rest of the world.

The President is keeping score. | online.wsj.com
1. The equivalent of 27 trillion dollars circulates world wide. 2. The current U. S. Debt is: $11,124,519,301,253.21 as of 3 April, 2009. 3. This means in five years the debt will be $22,249,038,602,506.42 4. If tripled it becomes: $33,373,557,903,759.63 5. This does not include the unfunded mandates of all social programs, and other U. S. entitlement programs.

Should Nvidia Merge with AMD? | www.rahulsood.com
1. Teaming of companies with two different products allows a more stable market. This is especially true if the companies make complimentary products. 2. Nvidia is known for its excellence in video hardware. AMD is known for fault tolerant and scalable CPU's. While these may seem similiar products they are not. AMD's expertise with CPU's would help Nvidia, and Nvidia's experience with video and gaming systems could allow AMD to compete and surpass Intel in the gamng market. 3. Bad times mean people like to have hobbies that allow them to "escape" the bad times, and gaming is one of the only growing sectors in technology. 4. I do urge caution. Unless this is approached with an open mind, and open eyes, the cultures will class and harm both enterprises.
The same people who can't get the DMV to work now want to manage GM.

GM Bankruptcy in the works. | news.yahoo.com
1. Govenment has never, will never, and cannot correctly run a business. Business and government are two mutually exclusive things. 2. GM is mismanaged, but the bankruptcy of this company is not the answer. GM management is not the issue. What is the issue is the constant belief that good times will last forever. 3. Analysis by interested parties. No one should ever trust an analyst who is paid by, or for, the company being analyzed. 4. Lawyers are no good at mathematics.
Our laws make cyber-crime easier;

Cyber crime profits running into trillions of dollars | www.itnews.com.au
1. Current laws allow and perpetuate illegal access. 2. Security vendors are inadequately trained at software trap doors and administrative access systems. 3. Law enforcement cannot protect what it cannot understand. When the U. S. Congress passed the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, they included provisions that allow copyright holders to place mechanisms inside of their software to prevent unauthorized copying. When this act was first passed, it was hailed as a way to prevent copyright infringement. What it really has done is to ensure that a virus in Topeka can be found in Tokyo within the day. If you quiz security and intrusion detection vendors, they echo what I am saying. These administrative holes are why the Internet is a lucrative market for criminals. As a notorious bank robber was once quoted when asked why he robbed banks "because that is where the money is" is a sentiment that is shared by criminal enterprises all over the world.
As technology marches, monopolies die.

Ma Bell’s Breakup: 25 Years Later, Everything Old Is New Again | www.xchangemag.com
There was a time when Ma bell was the only game in town. It also meant that they could put a stranglehold on innovation and competition. Now, in 2009, it is impossible to conceive of a world in which we cannot communicate at the speed of the Internet. News is delivered 24 hours per day. I can go to a virtual university in Sydney, then go to my local restaurant for a meal. All while seated in that restaurant. While the adaptation of some to technology has been difficult and at time contentious, the people who gain the most are the ones who utilize the most. The breakups of the fixed, antiquated, monopolies has allowed organizations and industries to grow where before none would have been allowed, or even possible.
Video games are the comic books for the wired generation.

Videogame Start-Up Reaches Marvel Pact | online.wsj.com
Technology and comic books go hand in hand. The imagination that brought forth comic books, is directly translatable into the video realm. Instead of having to imagine that they can fly, in a video environment, anyting is possible. This is highly addictive and I know this first hand. I cannot think that this will be anything but positive. Here is an example. While young, I flew gliders. I always dreamed of flying fighter aircraft. It was never going to happen. When Jane's brought out their USAF, I immediately went and purchased the yoke and rudder pedals to fly an F22. I spent hundreds of dollars to feed my fantasy. Now, Marvel has made the greatest decision of their corporate lives. Hundreds of thousands of gamers will eat this up.
Microsoft cannot be everything to everyone.

Ballmer Says Microsoft Can Experiment in Search, Unlike Google | www.bloomberg.com
1. Microsoft has become less focused on its core product and its support. While the giant needs to adapt to the success they have had, they also need to understand that part of that growth needs to be focused on what made them successful in the first place. 2. Yes, Microsoft has succeeded, but they seemingly did not plan for what happened when they succeeded. Practically 4 out of 5 computers runs a Microsoft product. They did not plan for this success and now are looking for revenue streams which will alllow them to have the same type of growth they have had previously. 3. No one, no matter how hard they try can be everything to everyone. If they try, they loose what made them successful. Why not focus on making good products better. Make your product the one that people want. Voluntary buyers are better and worth more than coerced buyers.
