Looking for Love in a Down Economy | www.apa.org

Attitudes about online dating will change overall due to the recession, regardless of whether people feel more persuaded or dissuaded to find love.  Online dating trends will change drastically. The perceived value of the paid online dating experience will erode.  Paid online sites will take a hit, because they are paid.  However, the paid sites have invested in equating paid online dating with value, so the people who "go away" will not necessarily migrate to unpaid sites.
